My friend Heather, her husband Benjamin and I were walking down the quaint streets of Appledore Village late august of 2025 one afternoon near the shores of North Devon in the U.K. Passing by a small studio, we read a note on the window encouraging passersby's to come in if they wish for a quick chat with the artist working inside the studio. What ensued was a pleasant conversation with Fu, a local cityscape artist.

Fu creates art featuring the layout and picturesque scene's interwoven throughout the village. He said we caught him on the rare occasion that he comes into the studio. He doesn't make much income from it, especially after the Appledore artist festival stopped running but he enjoys meeting people and the interchange of stories.

He stamps his Chinese name on each print with red ink with this custom wooden block.
